Symphony choir and Orchestra
Welcome to the website of Groninger Student Music association Bragi!
G.S.M.G. Bragi is the biggest and oldest student music association in Groningen. The association was founded in 1882 and has on average about 100 members, divided over 3 ensembles: the symhpony choir, the orchestra and the a-capella choir. Every ensemble rehearses every week, and works on at least two programmes each year, each season being ended with a series of concerts. Our year is filled with drinks, rehearsal weekends, parties and many other fun (musical) activities!
We are once again starting with rehearsals! The first rehearsal will take place on September 1st. We will abide by the rules set by the RIVM to ensure everyone can make music while staying safe. Check our website periodically and/or follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep in touch with updates so you don’t miss anything in the future!

What is Bragi?
The association was founded in 1882 (therefore we are over 135 years old!) and has around 100 members, divided over 3 ensembles: the symphony choir, orchestra and a-capella choir. With this, we are the oldest and biggest student music association in Groningen. Every ensemble has weekly rehearsals, usually seperately, though the orchestra and symphony choir join up towards the end of the season to rehearse their piece(s) together.
Hire an ensemble or choir for an occasion?
It is possible to hire an ensemble from Bragi!
This can be a string quartet, but also a chamber choir or other chamber ensembles.
